Valentine’s Sampler

I have been doing Sampler classes for a year and a half now and every month I wonder if I will be able to come up with something new.  It definitely is a labor of love.  The Sampler classes are by far my most popular classes on my schedule, so each month I continue to try to top the previous month.  Some months are easier than others, and this month was a lot of fun to design.  Stampin’ Up! has some really beautiful Valentine and love stamps and accessories right now.   So, here it is….. let me know what you think.   I would love to have you join us for the next class at the end of the month featuring Easter.

Where has time gone?!?

Wow, that was a long hiatus.  I didn’t intend for it, but sometimes life gets in the way of all of my good intentions and projects and some things just get put on the back burner… and unfortunately blogging was one of those things.  But with a new year, comes new hope and the promise of change…. and one of my many goals for the new year is to blog regularly.  So here it goes.  I hope that you will help to keep me accountable.

As many of you already know, my sampler classes are the most popular of all my classes.   I don’t often get the completed project finished in time to post before class, but I thought I would share the Winter Sampler that we did at the beginning of this month.  I do still have several that are completed available to purchase.  If you are interested, please email me.

My next sampler class is the Valentine’s Sampler Class which is scheduled for Monday, Feb 1st. There are still a few spots available if you would like to join us.  This class is also available to-go for $10 extra.  Class fee is $30 and includes a pack of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit.  Frames are available for an additional charge.  Don’t miss out on all of the fun!

I have another cute project to share with you today.  This features one of my favorite stamp sets from the new Occasions Catalog.  This was on my “must get” list right away.

Make a Wish BD cardThis card also features one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors – Bermuda Bay and I just LOVE the new stitched ribbon!  I think you could very easily change up the colors on this for a different look.  What are your favorites?

Hostess Appreciation Highlights

Fun decorations

This past Saturday was my annual Hostess Appreciation Party and it was a blast!  I had 31 people that qualified this past year to attend and of those, 14 were able to make it to our celebration.  The theme was “watermelon” and everyone had cute watermelon favors and the decor was all about watermelon too!  We even had a watermelon cake (compliments of my wonderful mother-in-law, Millie) and watermelon sherbet for dessert.

Sweet Watermelon Treats!

8-31-15 020 Everyone received a sample ring of all of the embossing folder patterns, an inventory chart for all of their papers, ribbons, and inks and a sample strip of each of the Designer Series Paper Packs.  It pays to be a hostess!  We also played several games, learned some interesting watermelon & Stampin’ Up! facts, and of course, stamped some adorable cards!

Convention Swap #2

I am a big fan of monochromatic cards.  Something about the clean, simple color scheme is very appealing to me.  Here is the card I designed for one of the organized swaps I participated in for convention.  I love Wisteria Wonder and don’t use it often enough- even when I was a little girl, my favorite color was “grape”.  What is your favorite color?

Are your memories being cherished?

My first journey into the crafting world as an adult was when I started scrapbooking. I had started a few projects while I was in college, but completed my first album of our honeymoon about a year after my first marriage. It was therapeutic for me and it helped me get through a very difficult time after a miscarriage. When I look at that album now, it was not my best or most artistically beautiful work, but it is full of memories of our honeymoon cruise and also healing thoughts of that heartbreaking time. That is one of the things that I love most about scrapbooking and memory keeping- the therapeutic benefit – both while you are creating and also when you and your family enjoy it for years to come. Now my main goal for memory keeping is to preserve all of family photos and memories for my boys to enjoy and share with their families some day.

8-19-15 006 8-19-15 011

They love to get the albums out and remember all of our fun and crazy times.  Admittedly I am about 7 years behind in putting photos in albums though.  When my youngest came along, it just got shoved to the back burner and I didn’t make time for it anymore.  That is one of the reasons that I love Project Life by Stampin’ Up!- it allows me to get my photos in albums and i still have time to live my life and make more beautiful memories.  You don’t have to spend hours on 1 page and worry if everyone will notice your fancy embellishments, it’s as easy as printing your photos, dropping them in the pockets and adding some coordinating journaling cards.  I would love to show you how easy it is to get started and get those photos off your computer & phone or out of boxes and into beautiful albums that your family can enjoy for many years.  Join me at my memory keeping day this Sunday, Aug 22nd from 1-6pm.  You can bring anything you want to work on.  I find that if I don’t have the time scheduled, then it doesn’t just happen for me. You need not have ONE creative bone in your body….just the desire to document and preserve your preciousl memories for your family!  Email or text me to reserve your spot.  Go ahead….LEAVE YOUR LEGACY

Convention Swap #1

I made over 300 swap cards for convention a few weeks ago.  There were 5 different designs and I finally got a chance to share one of my favorites with you.  Let me know what you think.

Conventionswap#1

I just love the Fun Frames Textured Embossing Folders- they are totally under utilized.  This is the stamp set that coordinates with the Tin of Cards Project kit.  There is a little something in there for every occasion. For some reason, all most all of the swaps I made had a color scheme where black was half of the equation.  Stay tuned this week for more of my creations.
